✅ UBC Okanagan Pre-Permit Checklist

UBC Parking Account Setup

    • Ensure you are actively enrolled in a UBC credit course or an active employee.
    • Login to your UBC Parking account using your Campus-Wide Login (CWL).
    • Verify and update your account details:
    • Vehicle information (license plate number, province/state, make, colour and style)
    • Full Name, address, telephone number, email address
    • You may register up to five vehicles under your permit, but only one vehicle is authorized to park on campus at any given time.

Settle Outstanding Violations

    • Pay any outstanding traffic notices or parking violations associated with your account.

Waitlists

Commuting drivers waitlist opens Aug. 6, 2025 9am Pacific Time

    • Log in to your parking account and select “Add/Edit Waitlist”
    • You can add up to four waitlists and prioritize your highest to lowest choice
    • Improve your chances of getting a permit by adding your name to the G, J, H, I or W Lot waitlists (these lots have higher permit availability)

Resident students waitlist opens Aug. 12, 2025 9am Pacific Time

    • Resident students are only able to add their names to the R Lot Waitlist
    • Log in to your parking account and select “Add/Edit Waitlist”

 

Monitor Email for Permit Offers

    • Add parking.support@ubc.ca to your list of safe senders to ensure you receive communications.
    • If selected from the waitlist, you will receive a purchase offer via email.
      Monitor junk mail folders.
    • Respond within the specified timeframe to secure your permit.
    • If you fail to purchase your permit prior to the offer expiry, that permit offer will be sent to the next person on the waitlist.
    • Permits are in high demand, and availability is limited. Being on multiple waitlists does not guarantee an offer, as it depends on your position on each list and overall permit availability.

Direct Purchase (for Spring/Summer Terms)

For Spring and Summer terms, permits are available for direct purchase without a waitlist. Purchase online by visiting parking.ok.ubc.ca. Login into your parking account. Select “Permits” and then “Get Permits”.
