Food for Fines

Trade Fines for Food Bank Donations!

Got a parking fine? From November 1-30, 2025 you can cover half of it by donating non-expired, non-perishable food items. It’s all part of Food for Fines, an initiative from Parking Services and the SUO Pantry to support students facing food insecurity. It’s a simple way to give back—and lighten your fine at the same time.

How it works

1. Visit Parking Services at 261AA Nechako in November

2. Cover half your fine’s balance with non-expired, non-perishable food donations. Most items are valued at $3—some a little more or less. All non-perishable food items will be donated to the SUO Pantry Student Food Bank.

3. Once you’ve donated up to half the total fine’s value, simply pay the remaining balance

Items in Highest Demand

Rice, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit/vegetables, beans, macaroni and cheese, soup and oatmeal.
