Faculty and Staff Permits

FACULTY/STAFF PERMITS

Available to UBC Faculty and Staff, permits may be purchased by:

Permit Demand

  • Parking is in extremely high-demand September–April.
  • Semester permits are sold through a waitlist system via your parking account.
  • All parking allocations are subject to availability
  • High-demand lots include: B, E, F and S.
  • Parking lots with greater availability include: G, H, J and W.

Conditions

  • To purchase parking, you must be a faculty or staff member with an active CWL account.
  • New UBC employees will need to purchase daily parking until their CWL is generated.
  • Your parking account must include up to date information including:
    • full name, address, telephone number, email address, vehicle information (make and government issued license plate number for any vehicle registered under the permit).
  • Up to 5 vehicles can be registered to a parking permit with only 1 vehicle authorized to park on campus at any given time.
  • All outstanding violations must be paid prior to purchasing a parking permit.
  • Paid parking is in effect year round including holidays and weekends.

Monthly Permits (via payroll deduction)

  • Available to permanent faculty and staff or salaried sessional/term employees on a minimum 12-month term are eligible
  • Monthly permits via payroll deduction are sold for the following lots:
    • I:  $66.00 as of September 1, 2023
    • H: $76.50 as of September 1, 2023
    • B, J: $87.00 as of September 1, 2023
    • E, F, G, S, W, R: $97.50 as of September 1, 2023

Monthly permit requests Applications are assessed and are processed as they are received.

  • Requests submitted between the 1st–15th of the month will be charged the full monthly rate.
  • Requests submitted between the 16th and the end of the month will be pro-rated to half the monthly rate.

HOW TO PURCHASE

  1. Create a UBC Parking Account with your CWL and add your vehicle details
  2. SUBMIT A UBCO Faculty and Staff Payroll Deduction REQUEST

Once processed, the UBCO Parking Services team will contact you with your lot allocation and payroll deduction details.

Tip! For the best chance to receive a permit, choose lots with the largest number of stalls: G, H, J and W.

Semester Permits

Fall/Winter Permits

Offered by a waitlist system. Permits may be purchased for the following lots:

waitlists and purchasing

Before the waitlist open date

  • Create or login to your UBC Parking account with your UBC CWL.
  • Make sure your vehicle and payment and contact details are up to date.

Once waitlists are open

  • Login to your UBC Parking account.
  • Select “Add/Edit Waitlist”
  • Only lots available for waitlist placement will be displayed.
  • If you do not see your preferred lot, that means waitlist capacity is full.
  • You can add your name to the waitlists for up to four lots.

Once permits are offered

  • Permits are awarded based on your waitlist placement.
  • If you become eligible to receive a permit, you will be e-mailed a purchase offer.
  • You will have a limited number of days to purchase, as noted in your permit award email.
  • If a permit is not purchased during this time, the purchase offer will expire and the permit will be awarded to the next person on the waitlist.
  • Be sure to monitor your email closely including spam and junk mail folders.  Add parking.support@ubc.ca to your list of ‘safe senders’, so offers land in your inbox.

There is no waitlist for spring and summer term permits. Permits may be purchased for:

Month-to-Month Permits

  • Offered in H lot only.
  • Available for online purchase via your parking account on the first day of the month.
  • Limited availability and conditions apply.

Changing or cancelling your permit
