February Food for Fines drives new record

Food donations from Parking Services Food for Fines campaing delivered to SUO Pantry

Over 1,900 items donated to SUO Pantry

The SUO Pantry student foodbank shelves have been re-stocked thanks to the February Food for Fines initiative.

Parking Services received a total of 1,926 items—the new record for the single largest food donation to the SUO Pantry.

During February, campus community members with parking citations had the option to pay the first half of any parking fine with a food donation. The number of food donations received translated to $5,681 in parking citation forgiveness.

“Our team was amazed at the response from the campus community. Donations received this February greatly exceeded our expectations, providing a significant boost to the SUO Pantry. Thank you for your support,” says Jeff Joyce, Manager of Parking Services.

At the SUO Pantry, you can request a hamper, donate or volunteer your time.
